The 67th National Film Awards were declared on March 22nd and the film Jersey was awarded the Best Telugu film. Actor Shahid Kapoor, who is acting in the Hindi remake of the same, congratulated the entire team on Instagram. The actor has been preparing intensely for his role in the movie.
Shahid shared the poster of the Telugu movie along with the words “Huge congratulations to the entire team. Thanks for the extra pressure 👍😁🙌.”
Director Gowtam Tinnanuri, who will also be directing the Hindi remake, expressed his joy at winning the national award. “I’m very thankful that our film ‘Jersey’ has received the highest honour, by winning the prestigious National Award for Best Film in Telugu. I’m overwhelmed with the love and response the film has received from all, and I’m eagerly looking forward to bringing the Hindi version of ‘Jersey’ to the national audience this coming Diwali.”
The Hindi remake will also star Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur along with Shahid. The film is all set to release on Diwali 2021.
