Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming movie Sam Bahadur has been highly anticipated by the fans. On Tuesday, the makers released the first official trailer of the film. It is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The movie stars Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in key roles.
Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s first field marshal, who led the Indian Army front, Sam Manekshaw. The periodical drama is set during the Indo-Pakistan War in 1971, which led to the creation of Bangladesh. Sam Manekshaw was a war hero who was portrayed by Vicky Kaushal. Sanya Malhotra will be showcased as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
He was also the first army officer who got promoted to the role of India’s first field Marshall. The film also features Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, Saqib Ayub, Krishna Kant Bundela, and Richard Bhakti Klein in key roles.
Vicky Kaushal revealed the poster of the movie a day prior. He captioned the film by writing, “This is a life story about the man who dedicated his life to the Indian Army, to the nation.”
The movie is slated to release on the 1st of December 2023. It will be facing a box office clash with Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal. The movie is shot in locations such as Delhi, Punjab and Kashmir.
