Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to return to the big screen with Sikandar, an action-packed thriller slated for release on March 28, 2025, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. Directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film features Khan in the titular role alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. With a massive production budget of ₹200 crore, Sikandar stands among the most expensive Indian films ever made.
The announcement of Sikandar on April 10, 2024, was a treat for fans, marking yet another Eid release in Khan’s illustrious career. Over the years, the festival has become synonymous with his box office dominance, with several of his biggest blockbusters hitting theatres during this period.
Khan’s Eid streak began in 2009 with Wanted, which revitalized his career and set the trend for his festive releases. This was followed by Dabangg (2010), Bodyguard (2011), and Ek Tha Tiger (2012), each breaking records. Films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) and Sultan (2016) solidified his box office reign, earning critical acclaim and massive collections. Though Tubelight (2017) underperformed, Khan bounced back with Bharat (2019). His last major Eid release, Radhe (2021), opted for a hybrid release due to the pandemic.
With Sikandar, Khan aims to recreate his Eid magic, bringing fans an action-packed spectacle. The anticipation is at an all-time high, and come Eid 2025, the superstar is expected to once again set the box office ablaze.
