Pushpa 2 declared that their masala film would be released on Independence Day, a date that Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty had set aside for Singham Again. They were disappointed with Allu Arjun’s decision to arrive unannounced on a date previously announced by a possible blockbuster like Singham, but they don’t want to pursue the same road as Pushpa’s team by going into a clash scenario, a source close to the production house told Bollywood Hungama.
Following that, multiple discussions at Shetty’s office led to the decision to postpone the publication of Singham Again from the previously stated Independence Day release date. Neither Rohit Shetty nor Ajay Devgn are competitive enough to commit to a date that will compromise the economic prospects of their own project.
A quick phone call from Allu Arjun to Ajay Devgn, according to the source, would’ve resolved the issues, but that hasn’t happened, and Ajay and Rohit have remained the good people they are in real life, refusing to play the nasty games.
“Singham again, as it is yet to go on floors. They would announce a date that would be announced as a national holiday by cine-goers, such is the power of their combo and the brand of Singham,” the source shared and concluded, saying, “Rohit Shetty firmly believes in making films that force the audience to make a holiday for themselves, and Singham will be his biggest outing.” Singham Again stars the Cop Universe, Ajay Devgn, with Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh.
