Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has confirmed that director Ayan Mukerji will commence pre-production on “Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev” following the completion of “War 2.” During a recent media interaction in Mumbai, Kapoor shared that Mukerji has been nurturing the “Brahmastra” story for a long time and is currently focused on “War 2.” He assured fans that pre-production for the sequel would begin once “War 2” is released.
Released in 2022, “Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva” introduced audiences to a cinematic universe inspired by Indian mythology. The film followed Shiva, portrayed by Kapoor, a young man with unique powers embarking on a journey to uncover cosmic secrets. The ensemble cast included Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna.
In earlier discussions, Kapoor revealed that Mukerji has expanded his vision for the sequel, aiming to go “ten times bigger” than the first installment.
The team has taken constructive criticism from the initial film into account, particularly regarding dialogues and character chemistry, to enhance the upcoming narrative. While specific plot details remain under wraps, Kapoor hinted at forthcoming announcements, heightening anticipation among fans.
“War 2,” featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, is slated for release on August 14, 2025. Following its release, Mukerji is expected to shift focus to “Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev,” with pre-production activities anticipated to commence later this year.
