Sandeep Singh had planned for the movie to highlight Tipu Sultan’s less well-known sides when he first revealed the project.

The producer aimed to give an honest narrative for the benefit of future generations, in contrast to the heroic picture frequently seen in history textbooks, by exposing the negative aspects of the renowned king.

In order to appeal to viewers that speak Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, Rashmi Sharma Films, Eros International, and Sandeep Singh worked together to produce the film titled “Tipu Sultan.”

The release of the movie came at a contentious time, just before the May assembly elections in Karnataka.

Sandeep Singh had planned for the movie to highlight Tipu Sultan’s less well-known sides when he first revealed the project.

The project’s originally-selected director, Pawan Sharma, gave his opinion on Tipu Sultan and emphasised how inaccurate traditional beliefs about the historical person were. Sharma wanted to expose the true Tipu Sultan through the movie, portraying him as a bigoted king with a cruel reality that had been hidden throughout history rather than a brave warrior.

Sandeep Singh, who is most known for directing the PM Narendra Modi biopic that was released in 2019, had intended to take on other biographical projects, such as ones focused on Veer Savarkar, Bal Thackeray, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
