Pathaan’s new poster is out: John Abraham plays a polished villain; Siddharth Anand explains why he picked the actor

The poster for Siddharth Anand’s forthcoming flick Pathaan has been released.

The film’s team has been careful to keep the revelation under the covers, surprise audiences and thereby break the internet with first, Shah Rukh Khan’s look, then a peek of Deepika Padukone, and now by revealing John Abraham in a highly suave avatar.

Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to provide the first glimpse of his on-screen enemy from Pathaan. He stated, “Locked and loaded In #Pathaan, meet @TheJohnAbraham. Celebrate #Pathaan with #YRF50 on January 25th, 2023, only on a big screen near you. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.” With only five months until the film’s theatrical premiere, the anticipation for this big-budget picture appears to be building by the day.

In an official statement, the film’s director, Siddharth Anand, stated that each Pathaan revelation is like exposing a piece of an epic jigsaw in front of the inquisitive eyes of fans and moviegoers, immediately prior to the film’s release date. He stated that they want every Pathaan asset to be a significant buzzphrase and that they are lucky to have the content to do so.

The filmmaker explained his choice to cast the Dhoom actor as a negative character “I’ve always felt that the villain’s vision should be as large, if not larger, than the hero’s. Only when the villain is enormous can the fight be exciting. And we have a fantastic duel as SRK takes on John! We wanted to demonstrate John in a stylish avatar.”

Pathaan is set to be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on January 25, 2023.
