A special screening of the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava will be held at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament this Thursday, according to a report by News18. The screening is expected to witness the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and several Members of Parliament, making it a high-profile cultural event within the political circle.
The film’s cast and crew, including Vicky Kaushal, who plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, are also likely to attend the event. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava has been a blockbuster success, already crossing ₹500 crore at the box office, and has become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film, surpassing his past hits like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Raazi, Sam Bahadur, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.
PM Modi had earlier praised the film during the 98th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, crediting Marathi author Shivaji Sawant’s novel ‘Chhava’ as a key inspiration behind the film and lauding its portrayal of Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery. He highlighted the importance of such works in bringing historical legacies to the forefront, especially through cinema.
