On Friday, the makers of Allu Arjun’s upcoming multilingual action film Pushpa announced that the film would be released in two parts. According to the producers, the first installment will be released in theaters this year, with the second following in 2022.
Pushpa will be Allu Arjun’s first pan-Indian film, and it will be released in five languages, including Hindi, at the same time. Arjun will play Pushpa Raj, a forest brigand, in the film, which will be directed by Sukumar.
The statement from the makers said, “The storyline and the characters took on lives of their own and grew to a span that required the movie to be released in two parts. The excitement we witnessed for ‘Introduction To Pushpa Raj’ was phenomenal and we are determined to take it all to the next level by releasing the film as a duology. We have the best stars, artists and technicians aboard and we hope to give the audience a memorable experience in the theatres through this story,”
Pushpa circles around a red sandalwood heist in the Andhra Pradesh hills. The audience will see Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna share the screen for the first time in this film.
The first installment of the pan-India film is set to be released on August 13, 2021, with the second installment following in 2022. The film’s production was halted in December 2020 after six crew members tested positive while filming in a specially erected set in Visakhapatnam.
The producers recently announced that they invested a whopping 6 crore on a chase sequence that was supervised by a few foreign stuntmen.
