The “family entertainer” horror comedy would release in theatres on Diwali the next year.
Kartik confirmed he will be acting in the role a second time by posting a spooky video on Instagram. He said that the movie’s release date for Diwali 2024 has been set. Kartik’s Baba Rooh is seen in the video sitting in a rocking chair after the camera enters the haunted haveli (castle).
“What did you think? The story has ended? Doors close only to reopen again,” he says in Hindi, while Arijit Singh’s Ami Je Tomar. Kartik then adds, “I don’t talk to ghosts, they possess me.” His weird chuckle and the well-known music from Bhool Bhulaiyaa signal the conclusion of the teaser. Soon after Shehzada’s box office failure, Kartik announced Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
The makers in a press note said, “After winning hearts of millions across the globe, the gates of ‘haveli’ will now open again for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3! Following a massive success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, producer Bhushan Kumar, director Anees Bazmee and actor Kartik Aaryan collaborate yet again to carry forward the legacy of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.”
The producer stated that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be “big and unique,” as promised. The film will start production in the second half of 2024, and it is anticipated that it will be released in 2025. “We are right in the process of figuring out the gap that we need between part 2 and part 3. The expectations are sky-high and we are now thinking on how to take the franchise forward. At the moment, we are jamming on the script. All the stakeholders are clear – the idea of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 needs to be big and unique,” the producer continued.
