Karan Johar says his multi starrer Takht is just delayed, not shelved

Karan Johar has reportedly confirmed that Takht, which brings together an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, is just delayed, not shelved.

Recently, there were reports that Karan Johar‘s most ambitious project Takht consists of a multi starrer cast of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, has been shelved due to financial crunches caused by the coronavirus outbreak in the country. However, after Karan Johar’s recent statement it seems like the reports are far from the truth. Karan has reportedly confirmed that Takht is just delayed, not shelved.

Karan was quoted saying by Subash K Jha in an article published in Spotboye, “Takht is not shelved. It’s just delayed.” According to the reports Karan has been prioritizing his pending work post the pandemic. Jugg Jugg Jiyo, which stars Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, is on the verge of completion. The next in line would be Brahmastra followed by Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut Liger. After the completion of all these projects, KJo will start working on Takht.

Takht is a historical drama about the Mughal rivalry for the throne between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shukoh. While Ranveer Singh plays Dara, Vicky is cast as Aurangzeb.
