The next Joker movie, as previously announced, will be a musical. There were hints of the same in the teaser for Joker 2. It revealed the larger story as well. In the video, the Joker initially encounters Harley Quinn at the mental institution.

In the back lanes of the asylum, their romance blooms, and they soon decide to wreak havoc on Gotham City. A series of interactions with Lady Gaga on stage are also hinted at in the trailer.

On April 10, the film’s creators posted the official teaser trailer to Instagram with the caption, “He’s not alone anymore. Joker: Folie Deux – only in theatres and @IMAX, October 4. #JokerMovie #FilmedForIMAX (sic).” The film received an ‘R’ rating for strong violence and nudity.

In the trailer, Arthur is in jail. Then he meets Harley, who blows her head off while making a pretend gun motion with her hands. She acknowledges that the reason she admires him is that he has achieved more than she has.

Arthur is also convinced to leave the jail by Harley. They then embraced each other’s goofy aspects and set out on a crazy, chaotic journey. In “Joker: Folie a Deux,” Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lotte co-star. October 4 is the day the movie opens in theatres.

Scott Silver and Todd Phollips authored the movie’s screenplay, and Hildur Guonadottir composed the music.
