The makers of Hot Spot published the trailer a few days before the film’s release date. The Hot Spot video discusses a variety of forbidden issues, including sex and incest.

The director, who is notorious for injecting shock value into his films, previously stated that the trailer’s clickbait nature is only temporary, and that the film will deal with the aforementioned themes more maturely and provide answers.

Hot Spot is described as a linked social drama with four pieces united by a common thread. “Kalaiyarasan’s segment will throw questions on a certain bunch of people and parents, a particular industry, whereas Gouri and Adithya’s segment is targeted towards married couples. Subash and Janani’s segment will work for a 2K audience. The film will cater to a wide range of audiences.” Hot Spot is expected to address taboo themes considered by society.

Hot Spot will include a young cast that includes Kalaiyarasan, Janani, Gouri Kishan, Sophie, Sandy, Ammu Abhirami, Adithya Bhaskar, Subash, and others. While Kalaiyarasan and Sophie will play husband and wife, Adithya and Gouri will portray a couple preparing to marry. Sandy and Ammu Abhirami appear in one part; Subhash and Janani appear in another. Vignesh Karthick wrote and directed the film, which was shot by cinematographer Gokul Benoy. Satish Raghunathan and Vaan scored the music, and Muthayan U edited the film.

The director previously told OTTplay that he had eight stories, four of which made it to Hot Spot. Vignesh Karthick stated that if the film is successful, the remaining four stories will be adapted into a sequel.
