A Wednesday stars Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, Jimmy Sheirgill, Deepal Shaw and Aamir Bashir. It is directed by Neeraj Pandey.
2. Masaan
Vicky Kaushal starrer Masaan has been garnering alot of attention on social media. One of the underrated movies that has been underestimated, it touches on very sensitive issues. The movie is set in Varanasi and revolves around the people living in the holy city. The film explores the tough realities of love and loss and draws attention towards social problems.
3. Newton
A comedy-drama film which has all the elements that make it a must-watch. The film revolves around Nutan (Newton) Kumar, who is a government clerk and is given the responsibility to conduct free and fair voting in the conflicted jungle of Chattisgarh. He has to face the attacks of the communist groups who are not ready to participate in the electoral system.
4. Kahaani
One of the best performances of Vidya Balan to date has to be this suspense thriller movie. Vidya Balan plays the role of a pregnant woman searching for her husband in the streets of Kolkata. The movie is packed with suspense and drama and will hook you throughout.
5. Haider
Haider is the modern-day adaption of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Set in the conflict-ridden region of Kashmir, the film follows the story of Haider, a young man and poet, who returns to Kashmir to find the reasons for his father’s disappearance. However, the movie takes an interesting turn as he gets dragged into the socio-political issues and that’s where it gets interesting.
