On Thursday, Amazon Prime Videos announced that, Shoojit Sircar’s new directorial “Sardar Udham”, starring Vicky Kausal as lead will soon premiere on the streaming platform.
The film follows life of Sardar Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to revenge the horrifying incident of Jallianwala Bagh. It was Michael O’Dwyer who ordered open fire on innocent people on 13 April 1919, when revolutionaries were working hard to unite people against the tyrannical rule of Britishers.
The movie is all set to release in October on the streaming platform, The biopic is produced by Rising Sun Films in collaboration with Kino Works. Describes as “heart wrenching story of retribution” the movie “Sardar Udham” showcases the journey of a gallant man who made sure the world never forgets the lives of his beloved brethren who were brutally killed in the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre of 1919, Prime offered it’s viewers.
