Dhoom 4: Abhishek Bachchan gives stern response to the reports

It has been two decades since the action thriller Dhoom first hit our screens. It was a box office hit because of the thrilling amalgamation of high-octane action, bike chases, suspense, romance, and drama all combined into one. The main cast, including Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra, John Abraham, Rimi Sen, and Esha Deol, was in both installments, while John militarized the screen with the negative role of Kabir.

In 2006, Dhoom 2 took this franchise higher with the addition of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan while Abhishek and Uday were repeated as Jai and Ali. Dhoom 3 brought in Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif to add some weightage in this franchise. It’s been 11 years since the last installment released, and the fans are keen to know about Dhoom 4. There were reports in the past that Dhoom 4 might hit the floors without Abhishek. However, the Guru actor put those rumors to rest with a strong reply. In fact, Abhishek told Zoom categorically that he and Uday are the very essence of Dhoom. The sequel series is built around the adventures of their characters, Jai and Ali. He added that other characters might come and go, but he and Uday are Batman and Robin-irreplaceable.

He asked the rhetorical question, “Can there be a ‘Batman’ franchise without Batman?” Reflecting on this journey in Dhoom to Dhoom 3, he shared that it all began with the story of three young men—himself, Uday, and John Abraham.

On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan will next be seen in the films Be Happy and King. Abhishek will be seen playing a negative character in Sujoy Ghosh’s King and would share the screen space with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
