Boney Kapoor on Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan set demolition

Amidst nationwide Lockdown, the filmmaking process is stalled and that is why many film sets are being demolished due to approaching monsoon. Earlier, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s decided, Bhansali’s, Alia Bhatt starrer- Gangubai Kathiawadi’s ekanto set will be demolished due to monsoon. Then Farhan Akhtar amd Ritesh Sidhwani’s ‘Dubai to Dongri’ set to be demolished too. And recently Producer Boney Kapoor decided to Demolish sets of ‘Maidaan’.

The makers of ‘Maidaan’ starring Ajay Devgn, has decided to dismantle the film set owing to upcoming monsoon season amidst the ongoing pandemic. “We took this decision looking into the current situation in the country as well as the monsoon is near,” He further told, “So after discussing it with my team we took this decision to dismantle the set. Hopefully, the state and Central Government will be taking some important steps in upcoming days for the film industry.” told in his recent conversation with ANI.

Producer Boney Kapoor said that he is hopeful for the resumption of the shooting of the sports-drama around September ensuring guidelines provided by the government. The 64-year old Producer said, “Most of our talent team is from foreign, so unless the talent team comes to India, we won’t be able to start the process,” He added, “Hopefully once the lockdown is over, will start the work again but yes under the Rules and regulations issued by the government, only then,”

‘Maidaan’ is a upcoming sports biographical movie based around Indian Football and it’s golden years. The film stars Ajay Devgn who will be seen playing role of the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who is known as the father of Indian Football and is directed by ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame director Amit Sharma and is co-produced by Boney Kapoor.
