Alia Bhatt’s film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ crosses 50 crores mark within 5 days

After being delayed numerous times owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role, was finally released in theatres last week. It also features Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, and Shantanu Maheshwari. It tells the storey of a real-life Kamathipura woman who climbed to become one of Mumbai’s most influential Mafia leaders.

The film received great feedback from reviewers and fans upon its release amid a lot of hype and anticipation, and it’s doing well at the box office. Last Friday, the film Gangubai Kathiawadi was released in theatres.

Following strong performances on Friday (10.50 crores) and Saturday (13.32 crores), Gangubai Kathiwadi saw a significant increase on Sunday. According to Box Office Worldwide, the film grossed Rs 16.50 crores on its third day of release and Rs 40.32 crores throughout the first weekend. But it again saw a significant increase on Tuesday when the whole country is celebrating the Mahashivratri holiday, the film performed well throughout the weekdays as well.

On Tuesday, Gangubai Kathiawadi grossed over ₹9.5 crores, bringing the film’s total to over ₹57 crores. In a few days, the film is projected to reach the 100 crores club.
