Salman Khan’s Sultan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, is an Indian Sports-drama film with Anushka Sharma playing the female lead opposite the superstar. The movie centers around Sultan Ali Khan, a wrestler who has problems in his professional and personal life.
From a small town wrestler in Haryana, Sultan achieves global fame winning bouts at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, 2011 FILA Wrestling World Championship in Istanbul and the 2012 London Olympics. Talented Randeep Hooda plays Salman’s coach in this film.

Initial clash with Raees.
Salman Khan’s Sultan and Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees were set to clash at Eid 2016. But Raees’ release was pushed back to January’17 by the producers.

Deepika Padukone and Parineeti Chopra were also considered for the role of lead actress, before Anushka Sharma got the part.

Name clash with Dangal
