Sebastian Roché to make his debut in K-drama with ‘Queen of Tears’

Sebastian Roché, known for his part in 1923, is preparing for his K-drama debut in Netflix’s upcoming series Queen of Tears, which premieres on March 9.

Roché will play Dr. Braun, a German doctor who has a compelling relationship with the two main protagonists. The series is a collaboration between Studio Dragon, Showrunners, and Culture Depot, with Park Ji-eun writing and Jang Young-woo and Kim Hee-won directing.

Queen of Tears depicts the story of Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won), a third-generation Queens Group heiress and department store queen who has been married to Baek Hyeon-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) for three years.

As the couple faces a marital crisis, they discover a miraculous new beginning that transforms their love story. Park Sung-hoon, Kwak Dong-yeon, Lee Joo-bin, and Song Joong-ki make guest appearances in the film.

Roché is now playing in Paramount’s Taylor Sheridan-created series 1923, alongside Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. He will repeat his role as Father Renaud in Season 2.

His notable appearances include Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix and HBO’s The Young Pope, starring Jude Law and James Cromwell, among others.

His cinematic credits include Salome, The Last of the Mohicans, Roar, and The Crossing.
