Twitter has removed the legacy blue tick from verified accounts yesterday. Months after announcing the date to press users to sign up for Twitter Blue, its paid subscription service that outcome was revealed yesterday, 20th April. Now because of Twitter’s new policy many celebrities, well known personalities across different domain have lost their coveted verification check mark.
This saga has continued in the K-pop industry too where popular groups such as BTS, Stray Kids, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, SHINee, ASTRO, GOT7, TWICE now have unverified Twitter accounts. K-pop solo artists like Jackson Wang, Taeyang, Jinyoung, Park Bogum, G- Dragon have lost their verified blue tick.

BTS has a Twitter following over 48.3 million where as BLACKPINK hads 9 million followers on Twitter. The other groups also have more than 1 million followers.
Although after all this also some K-pop groups which includes NMIXX, MAMAMOO, NCT, Wei and few others still have the blue tick, which means their Twitter account is till now verified.
This lose of blue also includes personalities like Kim Kardashian, Former US President Donald Trump, Microsoft Co-Founder Bill Gates. Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and politicians like CM Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, cricketer Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma have lost their Twitter blue tick.
