Will there be a season 2 of ‘Romantic Killer?’

Since its debut in 2022, Romantic Killer has won over numerous hearts despite its ironic premise of avoiding love. The anime’s comedic charm struck a chord with viewers, making its popularity a predictable outcome.

In the first season, audiences followed Anzu Hoshino’s struggles to resist romance while being pursued by the persistent cupid, Riri. Their interactions led to comically romantic situations reminiscent of classic Shoujo anime tropes, which left fans craving more. With only twelve episodes, fans are left wondering: Will there be a season 2?

Unfortunately, the outlook isn’t promising. Romantic Killer has not been greenlit for a second season, and it’s unlikely to happen. The first season covered all available source material from the manga, leaving no basis for additional episodes without new content. This limitation is a common hurdle in anime adaptations, as they typically align with the manga’s storyline.

Even Wataru Momose, the manga’s creator, confirmed in July 2023 that there are no plans for a sequel. With no updates from Netflix and the source material exhausted, hopes for continuation have dimmed considerably.

While this news may disappoint fans, remember that there’s a wealth of other fantastic rom-com anime waiting to be discovered. So, while Romantic Killer’s story may have reached its conclusion, the world of anime romance still offers plenty of entertainment.
