The actress is originally from Kolkata, and she studied at Jadavpur University. After reviewing her Facebook posts, the director of The Shameless surprised her by asking her to send an audition tape. That was the beginning of her acting career.

Anasuya has over 4,600 Instagram followers, and she frequently posts photos and videos from her professional and personal life.

Anasuya expressed her gratitude to “the queer community and other marginalised communities for so bravely fighting a fight they really shouldn’t have to” when she received the prestigious prize. The actress concluded her brief award speech by declaring, “We don’t need to be colonised to know how very, very pathetic colonisers are.”

The film follows the narrative of a sex worker who flees a brothel in Delhi after stabbing a police officer. Anasuya plays Renuka in the movie. The Shameless also concentrates around Renuka’s love connection with Devika, played by Omara Shetty, who is originally barred from sex work due to her medical conditions.

According to reports, the film was shot in India and Nepal over the course of a month and half.
