Deadpool & Wolverine has made a huge splash in theaters! The film, featuring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is getting rave reviews for its mix of action, humor, and heart, along with its numerous cameos and hidden references. Fans of Deadpool are now more excited than ever about the potential for a fourth Deadpool movie.
All three previous Deadpool films have been a hit, so the idea of a fourth installment is definitely appealing, especially now that Deadpool could team up with an even wider array of Marvel characters.
But will we actually see Deadpool 4?
he situation is a bit murky. Actor Ryan Reynolds has given mixed signals about the future of the franchise. In a June 2024 interview with Variety, Reynolds hinted that a fourth Deadpool movie could happen in various forms—whether as a solo adventure, a team-up movie, or even as his last turn as the character.
On the other hand, in a July chat with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, Reynolds jokingly expressed doubts about returning for a fourth film, saying he’d be “capital ‘B’ broke” and possibly doing Deadpool 4 out of financial necessity. Of course, this is typical of Reynolds’ humor, so it’s hard to take his comments too seriously.
The success of Deadpool & Wolverine makes it likely that Marvel Studios and Reynolds will be eager to continue with more Deadpool content. Given the multiverse adventures in the latest film, it’s almost certain that we’ll see more of Deadpool and Wolverine, whether in another solo film, as part of a team like in Avengers: Secret Wars, or even both
For now, we’ll have to be patient and wait for official announcements.
