Throwback to when Zendaya praised Tom Holland

During the release of the hit series Euphoria, Zendaya publicly thanked Tom Holland, who is not only her co-star but also her boyfriend. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she praised Holland for his unwavering support and love, saying, “I think it’s great to have that support and love around you, because you need that.”

Zendaya explained that playing Rue on Euphoria was emotionally draining and required her to distance herself from the character. Holland’s support helped her manage the stresses of her acting career, and she added, “This isn’t an easy job, so it’s good to have that to free you up from it every now and then.”

Holland, who starred in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), has been a frequent visitor to the set of Euphoria, reportedly showing up at least 30 times during one of its seasons. Zendaya even humorously mentioned they had discussed the idea of sneaking him into the show’s background.

Fans even speculated that Holland made a cameo appearance in the audience during episode seven of season two. When asked about this, Zendaya playfully responded to Entertainment Tonight, “Who knows. The world may never know.”

Last year, Holland and Zendaya confirmed their romantic relationship. They follow in the footsteps of previous Spider-Man couples, such as Andrew Garfield with Emma Stone and Tobey Maguire with Kirsten Dunst, making them the third pair of Spider-Man cast members to date. Despite advice from Sony Pictures head Amy Pascal against dating within the cast, both couples ended up together. Pascal had warned them, saying, “I took Tom and Zendaya aside, separately, when we first cast them and gave them a lecture. Don’t go there – just don’t. Try not to.”

However, despite Pascal’s advice, Zendaya and Holland became a couple, as did Andrew and Emma, proving that the chemistry and personal connections between actors sometimes outweigh professional warnings.
