The moment, which unfolded during Sunday’s episode, has ignited discussions about deep-seated familial dysfunction within the wealthy vacationing family.
According to USA TODAY, the moment had been building since the beginning of the season, set at the Thailand White Lotus resort. The younger Lochlan found himself caught between the contrasting influences of his hedonistic older brother, Saxon, and his spiritually inclined sister, Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook). After Piper announced her plans to study Buddhism in Thailand for a year, Lochlan, visibly unsettled, joined Saxon for a Full Moon Party, where the shocking interaction occurred.
The scene unfolded in a setting of excessive partying, with alcohol and drugs fueling events on a yacht owned by Gary, a wealthy and mysterious character. Urged on by their party companions Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood), the brothers engaged in an intimate moment that left Saxon visibly disturbed.
Speaking to USA TODAY, Schwarzenegger reflected on the impact of the scene, stating that the moment shattered Saxon’s perception of himself and his beliefs about masculinity. He noted that his character, who initially embodied ideals of power, wealth, and influence, ultimately found himself lost.
