Christopher Nolan is currently busy with the filming of his upcoming movie, The Odyssey, based on Homer’s classic epic of the same title. The movie, which includes stellar cast including Matt Damon and Tom Holland, is considered to be one of the most expensive movie ever made by Nolan. Recently, Deuxmoi leaked some unseen photos from the sets of The Odyssey, revealing Tom’s first look from the film.
The gossip site shared pictures from Backgrid on the social media handle on Wednesday with the caption, “Tom Holland on set filming Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated, ‘The Odyssey’ in Greece.”
The photos show Tom, dressed in a long robe with dishevelled hair, getting on a boat with other soldiers dressed in ancient Greek attire. Nolan can be seen shepherding his troops in some of the pictures as well.
Other photos featured an ancient Greek boat in the water and in front of an old abandoned port. Some of the snaps also includes soldiers on the boats, with crew members helping the actors with their costumes.
Apart from Matt and Tom, the film shall also feature Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, and Jon Bernthal, as per The Hollywood Reporter. Himesh Patel, Elliot Page, Bill Irwin, and Samantha Morton will be seen as supporting cast.
Homer’s Odyssey, which is considered to be one of the most iconic works of Western literature, tells the story of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home following the Trojan War.
Along his way, the king encounters divine forces, mythical creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus, and the seductive Sirens. The Odyssey is slated to release in July 2026.
