Shakira opens up on motherhood and here’s what she has to say!

Shakira, the beloved singer and dancer, continues to captivate audiences worldwide, maintaining her global fanbase even at this stage in her career. Her split with Gerard Piqué, who allegedly cheated on her with Clara Chia Marti, shocked many and sparked extensive online discussions. Recently, Shakira opened up about motherhood and her advice to her kids, Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

In an interview with Rolling Stone for their July/August cover story, Shakira discussed the challenges and commitments of being a mother. She stated, “When we’re mothers, we never dial it down,” emphasizing that while mothers can continue working, their commitment to their children remains unwavering. She added, “It’s difficult to achieve balance sometimes. How much time do you dedicate to yourself, to your work, to the children? But children always come first and what consumes us the most.”

Shakira also shared that she has had to rely on herself more than ever, fighting for the survival of herself and her children. She wants her kids to understand that “life isn’t linear” and that dealing with disappointment is part of the human experience. “Things don’t turn out the way we want them to, and you have to deal with disappointment. That’s part of the human condition. It’s why we’re here.”

Regarding her personal life post-split, Shakira revealed she isn’t looking to date, citing a lack of time and space for it. Despite her past experiences, she admitted with a touch of humor, “I still like men. That’s the problem.” Reflecting on her emotional trauma from the breakup with Piqué, she quipped, “But imagine how much I like men that I still like them.”
