The Peaky Blinders will return to the screens around the world once again with the news that Steven Knight is developing a movie sequel. The series ran for six seasons and it ended two years ago on Netflix. In an interview with NME, while talking about his BBC series The Peaky Blinders, Steven shared an update about his upcoming movie and confirmed that the production schedule beginning in September is still on track. “It’s gonna happen this September. I’m just doing the final polishes, which will continue up until the day we start shooting,” he stated.

Between the series’ ending and now, the lead actor Cillian Murphy has seen his career advance after winning Oscar for Best Actor of Oppenheimer, wherein he had portrayed the role of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist who invented nuclear bomb. Steven confirmed that Cillian was on board for the movie and still communicates about the film.

What will the Peaky Blinders movie be about?

Details regarding the plot of the film is not yet revealed. Steven teased Esquire that he had a rough idea about what it would be about. It will focus on two stories, but he wants the film to dictate the direction those stories take. It is expected that the film will follow the next generation with Thomas Shelby at the helm.
