Liam Payne is regretful, promised to be a better friend, and honouring Louis Tomlinson.
The 29-year-old “Strip That Down” singer attended the Thursday premiere of his documentary All of Those Voices to support his One Direction brother (March 16).
He thought of his friendship with Louis and what it meant to be there while walking the red carpet.
On Friday, Liam wrote a moving tribute to his pal on social media. He reminisced on their relationship and each difficulty Louis had had throughout the years in it.
“Seeing the world through your eyes last night was the most beautiful thing to experience,” Liamwrote on Instagram. “My neck hurts from how much Im looking up to you right now you were already my friend and brother but getting to look through that window into your world and mind I just extends that respect I have for you.”
He continued, shifting the focus to their relationship and publicly apologizing for past behavior.
“What you’ve dealt with and how you held it all inside !! I’m so sorry I was so out of my mind and I didn’t do better for you, I feel ashamed in those moments to not be as good of a friend as you have been to me, at least I have time now and I’m me again so will try and make amends,” he wrote.
“I’m so thankful to have you in my life mate I feel so lucky and I know you know this but you were part of a small group of people that literally saved my life, you dragged me out of something so dark I’ve never shared it but your approach is something I admire and aspire to so I can one day do the same,” Liam added.
He explained that he was “so proud” to see his friend live through the challenges in his life while still continued to be creative.
“You worked harder than any of us to get here and now the world gets to see that from your side,” Liamwrote. “Thank you Louisand congratulations you deserve all these moments, every sight you get to see, every cheer that you hear and all the love you are receiving from the world.”
The hitmaker ended with a plea for others to go out and see the movie, writing, “Please he deserves it and you’ll learn a lot about yourself from this very special man.”
In support of his One Direction brother at the launch of his new project on Thursday evening (March 16) in London, UK, Liam Payne attended the red carpet event alongside girlfriend Kate Cassidy. Liam and Louis were seen walking side by side in excellent spirits as they left the premiere, despite the fact that they did not pose for pictures together on the red carpet. It’s wonderful to see them in pictures together once again!
On March 22, All Of Those Voices will open in a few theatres around the world.
