Max and ID have acquired the rights to a Channel 4 documentary based on the life events of Kevin Spacey.
The two part documentary titled Spacey Unmasked is billed as a “forensic look” at Kevin’s career and the allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct against him. He was acquitted in July 2023 of nine charges in a U.K. criminal case.
The documentary will also be including interviews with multiple men over their experience of meeting Kevin and how he has been behaving around them. The men, who are unconnected to the case, have never before spoken about it. The documentary will also include previously unseen archival footage and interviews with the actor.
Kevin, the two time Oscar winner faced nine criminal charges from four different men in his U.K. trial, ranging from unwanted touching to, according to testimony from one man, performing oral sex on a man while he was sleeping. The charges stemmed that the alleged acts occurred between 2001 to 2013. From 2004 to 2015, Kevin served a autistic director of London’s Old Vic Theatre.
On May 6 and 7, Spacey Unmasked will air on Channel 4 in U.K. Premiere dates for the U.S. and other territories have not been announced yet. All3Media International is handling international sales of the documentary and reached a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery for the rights in U.S.
