Jonathan Cheban, popularly known as Foodgod, has shut down online speculation about his friendship with Kim Kardashian, emphasizing that their bond remains strong. Speaking at the grand opening of Planet Hollywood in New York City on March 11, Cheban addressed rumors suggesting they were no longer close, calling them amusing.
He clarified that despite what social media may suggest, he and Kardashian are in regular contact. While he doesn’t always keep up with The Kardashians on Hulu, he noted that he often finds out if he has appeared in an episode through social media buzz.
Cheban, 51, stressed that their friendship is lifelong, even if they don’t see each other as frequently due to their busy schedules. Kardashian, 44, lives in Los Angeles with her four children, while Cheban, who frequently travels between locations like Italy and California, has now relocated to New York City. Regardless of the distance, he shared that they constantly stay in touch, exchanging messages about noteworthy events.
Expressing excitement about his move back to New York after five years, Cheban described the reopening of Planet Hollywood as a significant event for the city. Ahead of the launch, he humorously remarked that he hoped the restaurant had updated its menu, particularly by adding a modern take on burgers.
As a dedicated foodie, Cheban continues to document his global culinary experiences through his social media platforms, which he believes reach a wider audience than traditional television shows. He highlighted the efficiency of digital content, contrasting it with the lengthy process of television production.
