Harry Styles turns down the role of Prince Eric confirms director Rob Marshall – Here’s Why!

Harry Styles has denied the offer to play the role of Prince Eric as revealed by the director of “the little mermaid” Rob Marshall as he is looking forward to some ‘darker’ roles than Prince Eric. Read to know more

Born on February 1, 1994, Harry Edward Styles, the well-known singer, songwriter and a member of one of the most loved boy bands one direction, who recently began his acting career, has turned down the role of Prince Eric, confirmed by the director of the film ‘THE LITTLE MERMAID’ Rob Marshall.

According to him, when the role was offered to Harry, he turned it down by mentioning that he wants to try some ‘Darker’ roles than the role of Prince Eric. Marshall revealed that the role eventually went to actor Jonah Hauer-King as he showed sweetness and deep passion for the role, stated by director Ron Marshall Talking about the role, back in 2010 for the cover of ‘The Face’.

The young singer mentioned, “I want to put music out and focus on that for a while. But every­one involved in it was amaz­ing, so I think it’s going to be great. I’ll enjoy watch­ing it, I’m sure”

‘The Little Mermaid’, is a 2023 upcoming fantasy Hollywood film, directed by Rob Marshall.

The main star cast includes ‘Halle Bailey’ as Ariel, ‘Jonah Hauer- King’ as Prince Eric and “Melissa McCarthy” as Ursula. The film is set to release on May 26, 2023.
