Gigi Hadid’s Met Gala gown took a team of almost 70 people 13,500 hours to create.

The Met Gala, fashion’s largest event, has finally arrived, and it represents a triumphant comeback of glamour and style. Celebrities and fashion icons from around the world gathered at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to celebrate.

This year’s theme is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. Following the 2024 dress code, The Garden of Time, the red carpet featured some stunning looks. Among the stars who attended the renowned event, Gigi Hadid stole the show in a gorgeous ivory Thom Browne gown.

As soon as she arrived, cameras started clicking. Of course, her extravagant dress quickly became the talk of the town. The ivory off-the-shoulder gown included a large detachable skirt embellished with stunning ruffles and roses all throughout.

The dress accentuated her hourglass body with an embroidered yellow 3D rose with green petals at the waistband. Believe it or not, the Met ensemble took over 70 workers 13,500 hours to create. A crew of 40 workers worked for nearly 8,500 hours to embroider the voluminous skirt on the outer layer alone.

Following the Met Gala, this magnificent item will be added to Thom Browne’s permanent library, according to Vogue. The American fashion designer told the magazine, “It’s always a privilege to watch Gigi come to life. She is a true talent that shines at whatever she does.”

Talking about the masterpiece, he added, “I wanted her look to embody the fragility and immense work that you see in Andrew [Bolton]’s exhibit, blooming on the carpet and into the Metropolitan Museum of Art.”

Gigi Hadid also described her gown and appreciated the designer. She stated that even a single rose on her clothing was a work of art. She expressed gratitude for the countless hours and dedicated team members who worked on the dress.

“It is an honour for me to offer this to them, and I always walk the carpet with that in mind. “I’m very proud of their work,” she said.

Gigi accessorised her Met gown with a sleek diamond neckpiece and slender, dangling earrings. She styled her short hair loosely and wore bright red lipstick. Mimi Cuttrell, Gigi Hadid’s stylist, was inspired by garden statues wrapped in vines when putting up her ensemble.
