Elisabeth Moss fractured her back while shooting action sequence in The Veil

Elisabeth Moss fractured a vertebrae in her back while filming a stunt scene for her new FX spy series ‘The Veil’. The injury had left her lying on a roof in Istanbul for two hours.

While promoting the new series in an interview with Variety, the Emmy winning actress opened up about the serious injury. In the ticking clock series, which from creator Steven Knight and premieres on April 30th, Elisabeth plays an undercover MI6 agent, named Imogen, trying to stop an ISIS terrorist attack planned for the United States.

In the second episode, Imogen and a rumored ISIS commander named Adilah, played by Yumna Marwan, are passing through Istanbul when Imogen must fend off an attack from an assailant on a rooftop above the Grand Bazaar.

The actress shared that the scene, which made it to the final cut, was actually what they shot the second time, which was six weeks after her injury. She explained that the first time when they shot the scene, “I hit a wall the wrong way, let’s just say, and ended up lying on the roof for a couple of hours.”

Apart from them, the series also stars Josh Charles.
