All Eyes Are On Charlie Sheen’s Ex As Matthew Perry Death Investigation Heats Up

Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, has found herself entangled in the criminal investigation surrounding Matthew Perry’s death. In December 2023, NPR reported that Perry’s death was ruled accidental due to the “acute effects of ketamine.” By May 2024, the DEA and LAPD launched a criminal investigation into the events leading up to Perry’s untimely demise, as troubling levels of the drug were found in his system. Perry had a history of substance use and was undergoing ketamine therapy at the time.

In June, InTouch revealed that a celebrity woman was being investigated for potentially supplying Perry with the drugs. An insider noted, “They have basically been on the hunt for Matthew’s killer. She’s a celebrity in her own right, and they met in rehab. They formed an unexpected friendship.” The anonymous woman was residing in a sober living house when law enforcement executed a search warrant and seized some of her belongings. She maintained her innocence, but a week later, InTouch identified the woman as Brooke Mueller, an actress with a history of substance use.

Mueller was married to actor Charlie Sheen from 2008 until their divorce in 2011. She has faced significant challenges with substance use. In 2019, she stayed in a trauma center after a video of her with crystal meth went viral. Her team released a statement to People, saying, “Like millions of others battling this disease will tell you, staying sober is a daily challenge but Brooke is committed to getting better and working hard to overcome this and get well.”

Mueller’s journey toward sobriety has been rocky, impacting her children with Sheen. Although they share joint legal custody, Sheen has a legal arrangement that grants him full custody if Mueller fails a drug test. According to NBC News, the petition reads, “Brooke shall test for drugs and alcohol as often as required by her probation officer, within 24 hours of a written request (email or text) from Charlie or his attorney, and at a minimum of once per week regardless.”

As of now, neither Mueller nor Sheen have commented on the ongoing investigation.
