Lady Gaga’s fans have come to her defense after she addressed persistent pregnancy rumours through a TikTok video. In the clip, Gaga made a subtle yet powerful reference to Taylor Swift’s song “Down Bad.” A voiceover in the video states, “I don’t have to find an aesthetic. I am an aesthetic. I mean, I’m sure there’s somebody out here right now who’s going into Pinterest trying to type all these adjectives to describe me.”
A text overlay on Gaga’s video clearly states, “Not pregnant—just down bad cryin’ at the gym,” which is a line from “Down Bad,” featured on The Tortured Poets Department.
Fans React on Social Media
Following the release of the video, fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their support and frustration over the objectification of Lady Gaga.
One fan commented, “And this is why some of you need to stfu and stop commenting on women’s bodies. She has a perfectly normal body. Bless her.”
Another user added, “This actually makes me very sad. I hope you realize how disgusting it is to objectify her every time she gains a little weight. She does see everything. I wanna give her the biggest warmest hug rn..”
“The fact that she even had to is incredibly sad. We need to do better as a community that is supposed to be rooted in kindness,” another fan expressed.
Support from Taylor Swift
Even Taylor Swift showed her support for Gaga, commenting on the TikTok video, “Can we all agree that it’s invasive and irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body. Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation and neither does any woman.”
Speculation about Lady Gaga’s pregnancy began after some photos surfaced online, leading fans to wonder if she might be expecting. Gaga has been in a relationship with tech entrepreneur Michael Polansky since 2020. The couple appears to be going strong, and they were even spotted sharing a kiss at a New Year’s Eve party in Las Vegas. Earlier, engagement rumours had also circulated when Gaga was seen wearing a ring.
In a 2020 interview with MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Gaga referred to Polansky as the “love of her life.” She mentioned, “With Born This Way Foundation, my mother, Cynthia Germanotta, and our co-founder Maya [Enista Smith], who I love so very much… they’re working with my… the love of my life on something for mental health.”
Recently, an insider shared insights into their relationship with E! News, stating, “She’s really into him!” The source added that Polansky and Gaga “are opposites of each other, which all-around is a good thing for her.” The source also emphasized, “He definitely cares a lot about Gaga.”
