Disha Vakani, who rose to fame as Dayaben in the iconic sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, made a rare visit in Mumbai recently, much to the surprise of her fans. Netizens were thrilled since her appearance coincided with rumours that she is scheduled to make a comeback in TMKOC and resume her role.
On October 16, Sunday, Disha was seen attending a Navratri function in Mumbai’s Andheri districts. Her spouse and children accompanied her.
Disha left TMKOC in 2017 after the birth of her first child, and she has been on a “break” since then. Neither the actress nor the producers ever say whether or not she will return to the show.
Disha had been out of the spotlight since leaving TMKOC and giving birth to her baby in 2017. She married a Mumbai-based chartered accountant called Mayur Padia in 2015, and they welcomed their second child, a son, in May of last year.
Several images and videos of Disha from the Sunday event have already gone popular on the internet, in which she can be seen attending the celebrations with her family and interacting with the audience.
In the videos, she can be seen performing aarti as well as chatting with the audience in Gujarati. The event was reportedly organised for specially-abled children.
“Khana kha ke jaana,” she can be heard telling the audience in her trademark Dayaben style.
Disha’s appearance at the event coincides with rumours that she will be returning to TMKOC around Diwali.
Producer Asit Kumarr Modi has even vowed that everyone’s favourite Dayaben will return soon, but it’s unclear whether Disha will return for it or if the producers have finally found a substitute.
Several performers have arrived and exited TMKOC, and they have even been replaced by other actors that fit the character, but no successor for Disha has been found. Her character Dayaben has been claimed to be living in Gujarat, at her maternal residence, for the past six years, but it appears that Daya will be returning home!
