Bollywood diva, Alia Bhatt turned eyebrows at the coveted Met Gala 2024 in New York on Tuesday (IST). As photographs and video of the actress from the Fashion Superbowl spread on the internet, a video has now gone viral in which the foreign paparazzi can be heard shouting out to Alia, but by Deepika Padukone’s name.
In the video, Alia is seen making her finest poses and flaunting her look in front of lots of cameras on the Met Gala’s green carpet; however, the paparazzi confused her for Deepika.
A person who shared the video said, “Not the paparazzi mistaking her for Deepika yaar.” In the video, a couple of photographers are heard asking Alia to look at them by saying, “Deepika, look here.”

Deepika, who has worn some of the most memorable looks at the Met Gala throughout the years, did not attend this year because she is expecting her first child with actor Ranveer Singh, and the two were on their babymoon. She was certainly missed by the paparazzi in the West.
This is not the first time Alia has been mistaken for another actress on the red carpet. Last year, when Alia made her Met Gala debut, the Western media mistaken her for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and called out to her with the latter’s name.
Alia looked stunning at the Met Gala 2024 in a floral Sabyasachi saree, which was ideal for the night’s dress code, The Garden of Time. She completed her look with a messy hairstyle and hefty accessories. Her style was compared to that of Deepika, who wore a similar Sabyasachi saree in 2017.
