Vijay directorial Pooja’s shooting begins, Kangana Ranaut & R Madhavan to take the lead

Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for her upcoming psychology thriller film Pooja. The movie will mark Kangana and R Madhavan’s reunion after a long hiatus. The shooting of the film has commenced today in Chennai. Taking to her Instagram account, Kangana shared a few snaps from the inauguration rituals indicating the start of the shoot.

The ‘Tejas’ star posted a tweet regarding the same. She captioned it as, “Today in Chennai we started filming our new film, a psychological thriller. Other details coming soon. For now, need all your support and blessings for this very unusual and exciting script 🙏”


Fans couldn’t hold onto their excitement and wished good luck to the actress for her upcoming project. While a fan asked, “Mam, aap Tanu Weds Manu 3 kab karoge.”

Kangana starrer Pooja will be directed by Thalaivii’s director Vijay. This will be the second time Ranaut will be collaborating on a project with the filmmaker. Kangana even expressed immense joy about working with Vijay again. She said, “Dear Vijay sir after the incredible experience of Thalaivii happy to be basking in your glory again i love to be in your team and take your commands. Thank you sir.”

The music department of the film will be helmed by G.V Prakash Kumar, which will surely increase the thrill of the movie.

Kangana was last seen in Tejas, which is directed by Sarbesh Mevara. The movie couldn’t do well at the box office. She will next be appearing in her own directed film Emergency. Kangana will play the role of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. Other cast members also include Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman and Mahima Chaudhry.
