Triptii Dimri opens up about the “lick my shoe” scene, says there was no ‘apprehension’

Triptii Dimri is currently basking in the success of Animal. The actress is trending all over social media for her incredible performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial. Triptii played the character of Zoya in the film and fans cannot seem to get over her atrocious looks. While Animal has set new records with its historical box office collection. However, there is a section of the population that believes that certain sequences of the film were inappropriate.

In a recent interview with The Indian Express, Triptii talked about the scene wherein Ranbir Kapoor asks her character Zoya to lick his shoes. The actress stated that she is aware of the impact Animal has created. That scene was done after a lot of discussions with Ranbir and Sandeep Vanga. That’s the reason there was no apprehension. She even recalled her acting coach’s advice, “Never judge your character.”

Triptii said all the characters are human and they have good and bad sides. She added, “An actor must be prepared to play characters across the spectrum of good, bad and ugly, but if you judge a character’s motivations, and thoughts, you won’t be able to play it with honesty. So that’s what I kept in mind,” as reported by Pinkvilla.

The actress stated that the reaction of Ranbir’s character was justified. If there’s a person who wants to kill his family, wife and children, she would also mean to beat that person. And that particular scene wherein he says lick my shoes is understandable as he is going through certain intense emotions. However, he lets Zoya go and doesn’t hurt her.

Triptii Dimri also talked about her increasing fan following on Instagram and the masses calling her the new national crush. The actress said that she is overwhelmed by the audience’s praises and grateful for their love, though she does not want to get caught up in numbers.
