Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Dil Bechara‘ was successfully released on the OTT platform, and now is likely to hit theatres after cinema halls reopen across India from October 15. Dil Bechara is a romantic drama directed by debutant director Mukesh Chhabra. The film is based on John Green’s novel The Fault in Our Stars also starring Sanjana Sanghi. The government of India has announced the reopening of the theaters as the lockdown is being eased. Cinema halls, multiplex, and single screens will open from 15th October.
According to Mid-day reports, after the “phenomenal success” of SSR’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ on the OTT platform, theaters decided to screen the love story formally on the big screen to pay tribute to the late actor.
Theatres are also willing to release other movies which were earlier released on OTT platforms due to the pandemic such as ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’, ‘Tenet’, ‘Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, ‘Shakuntla Devi’ and many other films.
The screening of the films on a big screen depends on the reopening of the cinema halls across India. Varun Dhavan, Sara Ali Khan, and Bhumi Pendnekar starter film ‘Coolie No. 1‘ will also release on the OTT platform during Christmas, while it was also waiting for its theatrical release since March 2020.
