SuryaKumar Yadav Breaks Multiple Records With His Fifty Against South Africa

SuryaKumar Yadav played a match winning innings against South Africa in the first T20 match on Wednesday.

India had a one-sided match defeating South Africa with 8 wickets in hand. SuryaKumar Yadav (50*) & KL Rahul (51*) both scored a half-century to help the host dominate the visitors.

The amazing part of the game was Sky not only scored another half-century in this T20I career but also broke a couple of records.

He became the highest T20I run-scorer for India in a calendar year. Yadav’s incredible form and constant run-scoring games in T20I’s have let the batter complete his 700 runs this year. His tally surpassed Shikhar Dhawan with 698 T20I runs in 2018.

What will astonish you more is the fact that Sky has scored these runs with a destructive strike rate of 180.29 and an average of 40.66.

He also surpassed Rizwan and Martin Guptil for hitting 41 sixes in a calendar year. Yadav currently stands on 45 sixes in 2022, with more than three months in his hand to increase the tally even more. Yadav reached this record in just 21 innings, five less than Mohammad Rizwan.

The Indian star batter also jumped to the second position in the ICC Men’s T20 Batting Rankings. He pushed Pakistan skipper Babar Azam to the third spot followed by Aiden Markram to the fourth.

The Indian side is hoping the batter to perform the same and even better in the major upcoming event the T20 International World Cup 2022.
