Actor-Comedian Sunil Grover has always been the talk of the town with his skills and projects in comedy or films. In these pandemic times the actor is all ready to bring himself back on small screen and continue with his comic roles. In a recent interview with Bombay Times the actor revealed a few things about his upcoming TV show names ‘Gangs of Filmistan’ in which he will be playing a don character.

Talking about comedy, ‘Gutthi’ said “Comedy is not at all easy, it is serious business. Whether a particular show works or not depends entirely on the audiences’ verdict. I was not planning to do a TV show; in fact, I was supposed to start shooting for a film, but due to the pandemic, that project has been stalled. So, when this show was offered to me, I felt that it would be a good opportunity to make people laugh in these times.” He added that actors like Shilpa Shinde, Sugandha Mishra, Upasana Singh and Siddharth Sagar are about to accompany him in ‘Gangs of Filmistan’ which will go on air from 31st August. The comedian even cleared that he does not have any plans to reprise his old character ‘Gutthi’ or ‘Gulati’ and rejoin Kapil Sharma’s show.

When asked about slashing the fees as many others have done it Grover commented, “Yes, I feel that in the current scenario, we need to accept a pay cut; what matters is going out and working.  I also plan to donate my earnings from the show to contribute to society in my own way.”

In the interview Sunil Grover also spilled some of his opinions about the nepotism brawl which is quite heated in the industry since few days saying- “When I came to Mumbai, I had no support system in this city. I was lucky that I did not face any nepotism, but I do feel sad for those who have faced it. I also believe that talent finds a way sooner or later. Television has given me a lot of respect, fame and love. In fact, I feel that the TV industry in India has given chances to lakhs and lakhs of people and it is the best medium for newcomers to showcase their talent”, as put by Bombay Times. Grover has been working with a lot of films and his last shows ‘Mad In India’ or ‘Kanpur wale Khuranas’ were not that lauded by the audience. Yet the actor is keen to entertain his fans with a whole new concept.
