Stree 2: Abhishek Banerjee aka Jana opens up on receiving 3 new offers post movie’s success

Abhishek Banerjee came closer to achieving one of the biggest Fridays in his career so far as his two biggest films, Stree 2, and Vedaa, hit the theatres during the Independence Day weekend. In an interview to News18 Showsha recently, Abhishek mentioned that within weeks of the super success of Stree 2 people started offering him the lead roles.

“I wasn’t getting these offers earlier. The ones I was being offered were tight and low-budget. I got three offers last week. I will start reading and choosing what to do next. It makes a big difference,” said the actor, while agreeing that success brings commercial success and admitted that the commercial success is very important for him and he is concerned about it.

But Abhishek says he does not want to sound intellectual and dismisses it as he recalls that since his theatre days his friends used to tell him, “Tu bada commercial hai” and he used to like that. “Mujhe bohot maza aata hai commercial films karne main, logo ko entertain karne main. Mujhe utna hi maza aata hai ‘Stolen’ jaisi films karne main. As an actor, I cannot do boring stuff, that’s it,” Abhishek continued.

While Stree 2 is off the charts with great success at the box office, Vedaa, which stars John Abraham in lead, is not doing too well at the box office.
