
Singer SP Balasubramanyam’s health condition had deteriorated on the 23rd of September and on Thursday the MGM Healthcare Hospital’s doctors stated that the veteran singer was thereafter put on maximal life support.They also declared that the singer is extremely critical and needed close monitoring of his health.
In the recent update by Times of India, SP Balasubramanyam passed away on 25th September while undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
The legendary singer was hospitalised in August after testing positive for Coronavirus was reportedly doing well initially but later his health conditions dropped and was put on a ventilator and ECMO support. On 7th September he was tested negative for COVID-19 but continued to be on ventilator, as per the reports of The Hindu.
Legendary playback singer SP Balasubramanyam was lovingly known as Balu and SPB, he had won millions of hearts with his youthful voice. The veteran singer had sung more than 40,000 songs in his musical career of almost 55 years.
The singer is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter, both are playback singers. Our heartiest condolences with the family.
