Sonam Kapoor feels “fortunate” for not marrying in Bollywood

In one of her interviews with Vogue, Sonam said that she thanks her stars for not marrying someone from Bollywood.

There are several Bollywood couples who tied knots and end up living a happy life. But actress Sonam Kapoor had different views about marrying someone from the same industry. The actress got married to a businessman, Anand Ahuja in 2018 and feels fortunate enough to get him, as a life partner.

During an interview with Vogue, Sonam said, “I’m really fortunate to have met somebody who is like-minded and a feminist. Thank god I didn’t meet somebody who is from the same industry as me because their worldview can be very limited. It’s all about what’s happening in Bollywood.” Further, she said, “This is the first year that we’ve spent every night together. Usually, we travel so much. I’ve realized that we’re obsessed with each other and we have a lot of fun together.”

After marriage, the actress divided her time between houses in London and New Delhi. When she was asked about how does it feels to live in London, she said that she enjoys anonymity. She does her own shopping and roams freely in the city. Further, she also acknowledged the existence of ‘brown people’ everywhere.

“I was in Scotland and there were Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, and Middle Eastern people everywhere, and they’re all obsessed with Bollywood, ” she said.

Sonam Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with the 2007 movie, Saawariya, which was the debut film for Ranbir Kapoor as well. She was last seen in Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘AK vs AK’, with her father, Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. The actress will be next seen in the movie, Blind, which is an action-thriller directed by  Shome Makhija.
