The confused but authoritative landlord is a laughter riot and this character remains our favourite.
•Dr. Ghunghroo: Welcome is one of the well-scripted comedy movies of Bollywood. Each character is written and portrayed so well. And Dr Ghunghroo’s portrayal was just hilarious. I wonder how can one actor have so many varieties in the same genre.
•OMG-Oh My God: Kanji Lalji Mehta or KanjiBhai is one iconic character played by the veteran which makes us think of our vulnerable religious choices. An atheist person who runs a business based on gods. His business gets destroyed due to an earthquake and nowhere to gain respite from, he decides to file a case against God. Paresh Rawal as Kanji Bhai comes out shining with his power-packed performance and his brilliant sense and control of his craft clearly shows.
•Somnaath: Can you think of anyone who can portray ‘a blind person’ in two entirely different ways, well Paresh Rawal! Somnath, a blind old man who is challenged but is not helpless, loves his wife more than anything and his clever and witty attitude makes him loved by all of us. Paresh was just blazing in the film.
•Illiyas: ‘A blind Singer’ sounds familiar? Paresh Rawal portrayed the role of Illiyas, a blind singer who plays in trains and is a part of a robbery with two other blind friends. The sense of empathy, the sensitivity, the comic timing of the ace actor was just unmatchable.
