Nodeep Kaur, a 24 years old, Daily labour right activist and a member of Mazdoor Adhikar Sangathan (MAS), was arrested by Haryana Police from the Singhu Border on 12th January 2021.
Kaur has been in jail from a month and on Wednesday while hearing on her bail plea, Justice Jhingan said, “She (Nodeep Kaur) was medically examined but the report has not been placed on record by the State.” As a result, the court posted the hearing for 26th February only because Haryana Police failed to submit the medical report.
Now, Bollywood singer and composer Vishal Dadlani has commented on this matter. He took his official Twitter handle to share his thought on this issue. He targeted Haryana Police and asked, “From what I’m reading, #NodeepKaur s Bail-plea has been shifted to the 26th of Feb, because the Haryana Police didn’t bring her medical-certificate to the hearing. How can her custody be extended for the Police’s “mistake”? In what world is that fair or logical? #FreeNodeepKaur.”
