Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra accused of cheating trader in gold scheme

Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra has caught in yet another controversy, as the couple have been accused of cheating a prominent trader in Mumbai. The accusations has been made by a bullion trader Prithviraj Saremal Kothari, who has moved Mumbai Sessions Court to order a thorough investigation into the matter.

As per the complaint by Kothari, Shilpa and Raj, along with their associates, formed a scheme under their company, enticing investors with promises of lucrative returns on gold investments. The scheme named ‘Satyug Gold’, allegedly assured investors of gold delivery at a fixed rate, regardless of market fluctuations.

Kothari, being one of the leading player in bullion market, claims to have been persuaded by the accused to investment a certain substantial amount in the scheme.

Despite of assurances from the Bollywood actress, her husband, and their associates, Kothari did not receive the promised gold at the time of its maturity. He has claimed of making an upfront payment of Rs. 90,38,600, which is supported by documents such as covering letter signed signed by Shilpa Shetty Kundra and an invoice issued by Satyug Gold Pvt. Ltd.
